If you are driving a 2011 Ford FIESTA, or if you are planning to purchase one, then it is important that you review reported Latches, Locks, Linkages Doors Latch problems and defects. Total reports: 4.

Ever Since I Purchased This Vehicle The Doors (both Inside And Outside) Have Periodiacally Failed To Unlock After Shutting Off The Car, Without Hitting The Unlock Button Either On The Key Or On The Dash (this Has Occured On All Doors Except The Drivers So Far). I Have Taken It Back To The Dealer Many Times And Since They Can’t Find A Problem They Either Won’t Or Can’t Fix It. This Is A Safety Issue Because It Is Possible That The All The Doors Will Fail To Unlock Trapping People In The Vehicle. This Is Also Troubling Because There Are No Manual Buttons To Unlock Incase The System Fails. Whether It Is A Wiring Problem, A Problem With The Master Unlocking Module Or Lack Of Repair Knowledge With The Dealership I Don’t Know. *tt

Thats terrible!! I bought my son a used 2011 Ford Fiesta in June 2017 and 2 months later the drivers side rear door latch suddenly stopped working! The Ford dealer would do nothing about it except want to charge me $100 to tell me thats whats wrong with it and then charge me $400 to fix it! I thought no way! This is a manufacturer problem! I knew there were recalls on similar ones.
The Ford headquarters wouldn’t even do anything except give me a case number which I thought meant they would pay to fix it like a recall. But No!
Now I have to figure this out! Then we found out the latches had been replaced on this car and the replacement now has failed!
I’m afraid for anyone to drive it now for fear of leaning on a door and falling out or causing an accident!! Its ridiculous that Ford is doing this! I didnt know about the doors possibly locking you in! They dont unlock unless the car is turned on!
Who designed this piece of crap!!??
Any ideas on getting latch fixed??
